Sellex Studio folding desk bed (190 x 90 cm mattress size – Code; LI02010) is a student wall bed with desk that provides unbeatable functionality. This highly practical wall bed is designed by Lievore-Altherr-Molina for Sellex space saving beds.
La Literal Studio bed is designed for everyday use and is suitable for both adults and children.
The bed includes many practical features. For instance, the folding bed is fitted as standard with gas pistons to dampen opening and closing.
Sellex wall beds are made in high quality wall bed materials and are available in a range of finishes. These features consequently ensure that Studio bed is suitable for a wide range of residential and contract applications.
The Studio folding desk bed (LI02010) is a combination of simple contemporary design and everyday functionality. Significantly, Studio student wall bed offers the same comfort expected of a regular bed. Moreover, the folding bed is intuitively designed.
The adult size bed opens and closes quickly and easily by simply opening a sprung-loaded catch.
The bed clothes and mattress are neatly stored away too. For example, straps quickly click shut to hold the mattress and bed clothes in place when the bed is closed.
The supplied ladder can also be neatly stored away in the closed bunk. Studio bed’s built-in desk measures 1948 x 800 x 30mm, and is available in a range of finishes.
Please note that Studio folding desk bed is not supplied with a mattress. We recommend using a mattress no deeper than 20 cm depth (190 x 90 x 20 cm).
Studio folding desk bed is fitted as standard with gas pistons. The pistons “dampen” both the opening and closing of the bed to ensure safe and easy functionality.

Studio student wall bed with desk is easy to operate.
Firstly, a sprung-loaded locking bolt holds the bed in its vertical closed position.
Ssimply click open the locking bolt to open the bed. Importantly, the bed’s pistons ensure that the bed opens slowly and gently.
Next, another locking bolt secures the bed in its horizontal sleeping position. Moreover, straps hold mattresses, bed linen & the supplied ladder in place when the bed is in its closed vertical position.
NB; The bed should only opened or closed under adult supervision.
Sellex space saving beds are made in the EU to the highest standards. For instance, Sellex is an ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified company. Moreover, this adult size bed meets UK and EU Safety Directives.
Studio folding desk bed’s frame is robustly made in powder coated steel. The powder coated steel is strong and corrosion-resistant.
The bed’s facia and desk are made in melamine chipboard. Significantly, the melamine chipboard is tough and easy to wipe clean.
These factors consequently make the bed ideal for everyday residential and contract use. For example, Studio student wall bed with desk has been widely installed in private homes, hostels, universities and other locations.
Studio bed includes UK version safety bars. For instance, the UK version top bars are higher than standard EU version, and also include in-fill bars (as shown in technical drawing on above image slider).
The bed’s ladder (supplied as standard) clips onto frame of bed, and can be stored and folded away with the beds when not in use.

Studio student wall bed with desk is simple to install and requires only basic DIY skills. Importantly, two people are required for the installation which typically takes 1 – 1.5 hours.
The bed’s vertical brackets rest on the floor and are secured to the wall with rawl plugs and screws. Importantly, the wall brackets are fitted with self -levelling feet.
The bed is then hinged in between the brackets. Significantly, the vertical brackets bear the load of bed through the floor, not the wall. Finally, the desk is fixed to the vertical brackets.
Please note that Sellex space saving beds are not suitable for installation on plasterboard walls. Importantly, if you wish to fit to plasterboard, a frame must be fitted behind the plasterboard to secure the bed’s vertical brackets to.
Sellex La Literal folding bunk bed is not suitable for installation on floating floors.
