Bios Mini is hand-made in basalt fibre, a once Top Secret polymer. Basalt fibre was first widely used during the Cold War in the aerospace industry.
Basalt fibre is light yet extremely strong, making it a truly versatile material. For instance, basalt fibre was first used to make rocket nose cones and fuel drop-tanks.
This remarkable material has now been applied to more peaceful and creative purposes.

Mini’s basalt fiber construction provides unparalleled strength and weather resistance. For instance, Bios Mini pod weighs a mere 9kg, yet has a load tolerance of 300kg!
Tough all-weather finish
The intricate hand-laid basalt fibres are applied by hand over a mold. Next, Mini is finished in a state of the art Bulletliner finish. Importantly, Bulletliner has been developed to coat and protect the underside of vehicles.
