Bios Lounge modern garden sofa is made from once Top Secret basalt fibre. For example, basalt fiber is a magical polymer extracted from basalt rock at high temperature. Significantly, basalt fibre is strong and relatively light.
Basalt fiber was originally used by the Soviets in the Cold War in the aerospace industry. The Soviets used basalt fiber to produce missile nose cones and fuel drop tanks.
These same qualities also make basalt fiber ideal for high performance outdoor furniture.
Bios Lounge sofa cushions are upholstered in Panama Agora “Onyx” grey or “Beige cafe”.
The fabric uses 100% solution-dyed acrylic fibers. Moreover, the fabric is UV, stain and mildew-resistant.
Panama Agora has a Teflon coating which makes the fabric water-repellant. The cushion covers are removeable and machine washable.
Lastly, the cushions include a QuickDry foam filling. This ensures that any moisture is quickly expelled from the cushion’s interior.
