Hive’s weather-resistant Cane-line Weave® enhances the chair’s naturally inspired design. For instance, the weave cleverly mimics real cane. However, the Cane-line Weave® is super-strong and weather-resistant. Hive’s base features plantation teak which is tactile and weather-resistant.
Hive chair includes snug seat, back and adjustable neck cushions in Taupe coloured Cane-line AirTouch. Moreover, the cushions include QuickDry & Airflow system, ensuring that the cushions are dry once again approximately 1 hour after a downpour.

For instance, Significantly, teak (Tectona grandis) is naturally oil-rich hardwood, making it ideal for outdoor use.
The teak is delivered untreated. Consequently, Cane-line’s sustainably sourced teak furniture will naturally develop a silver-grey patina over time. Alternatively, you can retain the timber’s original golden color by applying a teak sealant.
Please note that teak is a natural product and therefore continues to change. For example, this means that small cracks can develop due to drying, and that slats can warp slightly.
Cane-line teak is approved and forested under the SVLK – Sistem Verifikasi Legalitas Kayu (Indonesia’s timber legality assurance system) certification system. Importantly, this ensures that the timber is sustainably sourced and responsibly processed.
Hive’s natural Cane-line Weave finish features a synthetic cane extrusion which uses solution-dyed polyethylene (PE).
The fiber is ideal for outdoor use as it withstands moisture and large variations in temperature.
This durable material is UV-resistant and requires minimal maintenance. Cane-line Weave® has been developed to withstand climate conditions all over the world and the material will retain its color and shape for many years.
The weave may vary slightly in color. Consequently, this provides a nice contrast in the surface of the weave. Importantly, this gives the furniture a unique, natural and exclusive look.
