La Literal folding single bed (LI010000 – 190 x 90 cm mattress size) is an individual wall bed with shelf that’s comfortable, functional & easy to use. The bed features modern design is by Altherr-Lievore-Molina for Sellex, Spain.
The bed has simple and intuitive design that everyone can use. For instance, the bed folds away quickly and neatly to compactly store away against the wall when not in use. The bed’s top shelf provides handy storage.
The Literal single bed provides the same everyday comfort one expects from a regular bed.
These characteristics make the bed perfect for spare rooms, the office, hotels, hostels, hospitals and many other uses where space is at a premium.
La Literal wall bed with shelf has simple contemporary design and user-friendly features. This contract folding bed is designed for everyday use. For example, the bed provides the same comfort expected of a regular bed.
What’s more, La Literal folding single bed is suitable for both adults and children.
The bed opens and closes quickly and easily. Simply release the spring-loaded catch to open the bed. Another bolt then locks the open bed in place, making it ready to use.
The bed clothes and mattress are neatly stored away too. For example, straps click together to tie around the mattress and bed clothes to keep these in place when the bed is closed.
The bed’s top shelf is perfect for storing books and other objects.
Please note that La Literal individual wall bed is not supplied with mattresses. We recommend using a mattress no deeper than 20 cm depth (190 x 90 x 20 cm).

La Literal wall bed with shelf is fitted as standard with gas pistons. Significantly, the pistons “dampen” both the opening and closing of the bed to ensure safe and easy functionality.

La Literal folding bed’s frame & brackets are robustly made in powder coated steel. Importantly, the powder coated steel is strong and corrosion-resistant.
The bed’s facia and top shelf are made in melamine chipboard. Significantly, the melamine chipboard is tough and easy to wipe clean.
These factors consequently make the bed ideal for everyday residential and contract use.
La Literal space saving beds have been widely installed in private homes, hotels, hostels, the NHS, universities and conference centres. Importantly, La Literal wall bed is installed in many other locations here in the UK and internationally.
La Literal wall bed with shelf is simple to install and requires only basic DIY skills. Importantly, two people are required for the installation which typically takes 1 – 1.5 hours.
Firstly, the bed’s vertical brackets rest on the floor and are secured to the wall with rawl plugs and screws.
The bed frame is then hinged in between the brackets. Importantly, the vertical brackets bear the load of bed through the floor, not the wall.
Please note that Sellex La Literal beds are not suitable for installation on plasterboard walls. Importantly, if you wish to fit the bed to plasterboard, a frame must be fitted behind the plasterboard on which to secure the brackets to.
Sellex La Literal folding single bed is not suitable for installation on floating floors.
La Literal wall bed with shelf is easy to operate. For instance, a sprung-loaded locking bolt holds the bed in its vertical closed position.
Simply click-open the bolt and pull out the bed to open. Significantly, the bed’s pistons ensure that the bed gently opens. Secondly, remove the straps holding the mattress & bed linen in place. Next, secure the locking bolt that keeps the bed in its horizontal sleeping position. Your bed is now ready for a good night’s sleep.
To close the bed, simply repeat the above instructions in reverse.
NB; The beds should only opened or closed under adult supervision.
